St. Matthew Lutheran Church offers both adult and children's Sunday School classes. Both start at 9:15am
on Sunday mornings. Come learn about God's Word and the love of Christ!
But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." - Luke 18:16,17
St. Matthew Women's Group
The St. Matthew Women's Group meets the first Tuesday of every month, at the church. The ladies of the group pray, study God's Word together, and enjoy fellowship. The group also is actively involved in ministries, such as collecting items for care packages needed for victims of natural disasters and war refugees. All are welcome to join! Please see our events calendar for the next meeting. For more information, contact our church office.
Bible Study Groups
Every Wednesday, the Bible study groups meet with our pastor to discuss their readings of the Bible. Currently, the groups are reading the Bible through in a year. The groups meet at 11am and 7pm, on Wednesdays. Come join us as we study the Word of God.
Every month, St. Matthew partners with Trinity Lutheran Church of Logan in serving free dinners to the community. All dinners are served in the fellowship hall of St. Matthew, on the third Thursday of every month, from 5pm to 6:30pm. Please consider donating food, money or your time to this ministry dedicated to helping those in need. If you would like to help, contact St. Matthew's church office. Please see our events calendar for the next scheduled dinner.
Sarah Smiles Prayer Shawl Group
A shawl wrapped around the shoulders is a feeling of being encircled in God's arms. Having a shawl within sight is a reminder that Christian friends care, have lifted you in prayer and are following Jesus' command to love one another.
Sarah Smiles Prayer Shawl Group is a small group of women who turn their love of knitting or crocheting into a prayer ministry. Please consider this as a ministry opportunity. You are welcome to become a part of the team, even if you have not knitted or crocheted before, but would like to learn. This ministry is open to all. As the prayer shawls are being made, prayers are said for their intended recipients (known or unknown.)
Come and share yourself and your stories as you work on your shawl. We talk, we listen, and we pray silently over our shawls, as we create them. We meet at St. Matthew on alternating Mondays and Wednesdays, at 5:30pm. Please see our events calendar for the next meeting.
The shawl ministry was begun over ten years ago by Janet Bristow and Victoria Galo, two women attending a seminary. The shawl ministry has now spread throughout the United States and around the world. You can see more at .
St. Matthew's shawl group formed in September of 2013. In its first five months, the group had given away 27 shawls! If you know of anyone in need of comfort, who might benefit from the gift of a prayer shawl, please contact the church, and let us know.
